When describing vacations after returning to work, coworkers had been amazed at the amount of activities I’d done—and places I’d been to—for the time that I was away.
I got the travel bug after visiting South Africa for the World Cup. The excitement of the game, the beauty of the land, and diversity of the culture sparked my wanderlust.
Over the next 6 years, I traveled to 40 countries while working full time as an analyst, designing and optimizing chat and chatbot solutions. In the evening, I would design and optimize my itineraries to my next fantastic adventures.

I've gotten lost. I've missed connections. I've had reservations cancelled for weather, illness, strikes, and poor timing. But mistakes make you a better traveler long-term and I wrote out my full trip-planning process to help others avoid those mistakes and to fill their vacation time with as many things that they want to do.
I get travel FOMO. There are so many amazing things to see in this world, so if I'm not constantly experiencing something new on a trip, I get restless to go explore.
For me, the best way to get introduced to a new city is on foot. On the first morning after arrival, you can usually find me at sunrise running on sidewalks or trails, through parks and plazas, and siteseeing with my phone in hand for photos and GPS tracking.
